One of the best things about fall is spending more time outside with friends and the local community. In Central Florida and Southeast Georgia, this often looks like attending food festivals, fairs, and public celebrations. Today, our real estate agents are excited to share some of their favorite upcoming events in the area.
Throughout the fall, the Riverside Arts Market will take place every Saturday from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Small businesses gather to sell everything from farm-fresh produce to handmade soap. This time of year, there are plenty of apples, pumpkins, squash, and corn to be had.
The Riverside Arts Market is a great place to get a jump-start on your holiday shopping. Vendors often sell candles, towels, framed drawings, and other decor. Riverside Avondale Preservation produces the market, and it takes place rain or shine.
If you're in the area looking at St. Augustine homes for sale, make sure you stop by the St. Augustine Greek Festival for a few hours. Scheduled for October 11-12th, this festival features dancing, Greek food, music, and more.
Vendors at the Greek Festival include Zaharoplastio, a local pastry shop, along with St. Theodora's Gift Shop and Bookstore. Ouzo, beer, and wine will be available for purchase, and a portion of the proceeds will go to benefit local food pantries.
October 2 is the last Sounds on Centre for the year! These free local concerts take place at the intersection of Centre and Second Streets in downtown Fernandina Beach. Make sure you bring your own chairs or blankets to sit on.
Sounds on Centre isn't far from plenty of great Amelia Island & Fernandina homes for sale. In addition to live music, there will be raffles for prizes donated by local businesses. This is a family-friendly event, and all are welcome.
The Northeast Florida Fair is scheduled for October 8 - 18th this year. Make sure you stop by for a corn dog, fried dough, or snow cone. In addition to classic fair food, you'll also get to enjoy livestock exhibits, the Miss Northeast Florida Fair Beauty Pageant, and even the Barnyard Olympics!
Other events include a Talent Show, Mullet Contest, and a Dog Show. Admission is $10 for adults and $7 for kids, and there are plenty of Northeast Florida homes for sale to check out while you're in the area.
The largest Oktoberfest celebration in Florida, Beaches Oktoberfest, will take place October 16th and 17th this year. This is a great opportunity to enjoy traditional German fare like pretzels and schnitzel.
Polka bands will keep the mood celebratory, and there will be lots of ice-cold beer to keep you cool. This year's bands include:
There are both single-day and two-day ticket options. Beaches Oktoberfest is a cashless event and takes place rain or shine.
